Most men have quit their goals by now.
... January 19th to be exact.
4 min read
A study by Strava, a fitness app for endurance athletes analyzed over 800 million user-logged activities, and identified January 19 as the day most people are likely to give up on their New Year’s resolutions, a date they’ve termed “Quitter’s Day.”
So if you you’re still pursing your goal… you’re a winner, so far.
We’ve all set goals before:
“I’m going to lose 20 pounds.”
“I’ll save $10,000 this year.”
“I’ll be a better husband, father, or leader.”
They sound great. They’re ambitious. But let’s be real, most goals never get accomplished.
Why? Because goals are the destination, not the vehicle.
Goals vs. Systems
“You don’t rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.”
A goal is the what.
A system is the how.
You can’t drive across the country with a destination pinned on a map but no car, no gas, and no road to follow. Yet that’s how most men approach personal growth, focusing only on the result but ignoring the process.
The Goal: Build a stronger body.
The System: Train 4x per week, track macros, and sleep 7 hours nightly.
The Goal: Improve your finances.
The System: Create a budget, track expenses, and invest consistently.
Goals give you direction. Systems give you progress.
The Power of Systems
Think about it: Olympic athletes don’t win gold because they have better goals than everyone else.
They win because their systems are relentless.
The same is true for you.
If you don’t have daily habits, rituals, and systems that align with your goals, you’ll never get there.
That’s why the 40-Day Mastery Challenge is built on systems, not vague promises.
It’s your blueprint to take action every single day, across four key areas:
Faith: Daily disciplines to align your spirit.
Fitness: Structured workouts to build strength and resilience.
Family: Habits to deepen your relationships.
Finances: Systems to multiply your resources.
Stop Relying on Willpower
Here’s the truth: You can’t trust motivation to carry you. Motivation fades. Systems stay.
Motivation doesn’t work… Momentum does.
Even better, is a system that creates predictable momentum first thing in the morning.
That’s how you move the needle towards your goals.
Sure, set some big goals…
Scan out 1, 2 and 10 years.
But, it’s the focus on the discipline of the day that matters the most.
Here’s the system.
