2024 Year in Review Recap | LIVE

Happy New Years Eve,

I want to start with this:

At the beginning of the year I defined my “Word of the Year” as SEND IT.

This is the first article I wrote last year that explains what that means.

And as I look back over the year I did, in many ways “send it…

• I met Stella, my wonderful wife

• Stayed consistent with Jiu-Jitsu: Competed in 5 BJJ tournaments (1 Gold!)

• Helped clients launch businesses, create freedom, achieve goals, and transform their fitness

• Bought a house in Texas and sold my California home

• Started a newsletter and wrote 35 articles (this being 36 the goal was 52).

• Filmed 36 podcasts with Josh for Season 3 of The HVMC

• Near-perfect attendance in the Men of Light Friday Morning Group

• Completed The Path and led the Saturday morning Mighty Men group

• Wrote 500+ words daily (posted on 328 days!)

• Hosted 800+ Zoom coaching calls

• Nearly completed the 2025 HVM Coaching Curriculum: GROW KING (10 years in process… This is the big send)

… and while I am very proud, I also know there is still a huge GAP between what I did and what I know I am capable of.

That gap is full of all the edits, false starts, self rejections and trashed drafts — the moments where I said it wasn’t good enough and robbed you [those I am creating for] from the simple reminder: it’s all a rough draft anyway.

You won’t be around to see the final copy, so send it.

There is no perfection — perfecting yes, but if the theory [art, masterpiece, symphony, attempt!] dies before it meets who it’s intended for, that’s the real loss.

You get me?

But, that’s what this moment is for…

End of the year reflection, to look back so you can spring forward.

And the best is yet to come.

Biggest Lessons from 202:

1. Less is More:

In the beginning, you say yes to everything. Eventually, mastery is learning to say yes to less.

2. There Are No Shortcuts:

Not even with AI. The work is the work.

3. STOP WAITING. STOP EDITING. STOP HOLDING BACK. SEND IT.

You’re going to have haters one way or the other. Until you’re unapologetically honest, you’ll never know who truly supports you.
